Kalamazoo, MI (July 8, 2008) - The Kalamazoo Outrage today announced that Canadian Pro side the Windsor Border Stars will play an International exhibition match against the Outrage PDL side on Sunday July 20.

The Windsor Border Stars are a professional Canadian soccer team, founded in 2004. The team is a member of the Canadian Soccer League, the highest level soccer league in Canada, and play in the National Division. The Border Stars entered the CPSL in 2004, and won the Open Canada Cup in both 2004 and 2005. The Border Stars also played one season in AISL (American Indoor Soccer League) and won it in 2005.

Outrage PDL head coach Stu Riddle was delighted that the match had been confirmed "It's a wonderful opportunity for my players to compete against a professional side and of course for the public of Kalamazoo to see a first class match. We look forward to hosting this excellent Canadian side and hope to put on an entertaining game of football in front of a big home crowd".

The Border Stars currently sit in 5th place of the National Division of the Canadian Soccer League and will no doubt be looking to use the Outrage friendly to prepare for a busy end of season schedule. Their roster boasts a host of Canadian players while American quartet Tino Scicluna, Tom Stark, Tom Eller and Blake Ordell also have a spot on the 24 man squad.

Striker Aaron Byrd currently leads the team in scoring with 5 goals in the teams 9 games to date.

Outrage's defender and captain Terry Alvino welcomed the opportunity to showcase his talents against a professional team from another country "Having played as a professional for the last 2 years I am excited personally to get the opportunity to play in this match. It's going to be a great chance for some of the younger players to get their feet wet and test themselves against a pro team". Alvino has played as a professional in USL-1 with the Minnesota Thunder and has also spent 2 seasons playing in the New Zealand Football Championship with Otago Utd.

The match with the Windsor Border Stars on Sunday July 20th will kick off at 1pm and will be played at Mayor's Riverfront Stadium in downtown Kalamazoo.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate with children aged 6-13 being charged $3, adults 14 and up $5.
